Witness | Living Ruins Karaköy

"Witness" is a memory-based spatial project in Kayaköy that transforms the village into a living archive of time. Respecting the existing ruins and untouched nature, the design offers a personal and emotional experience for visitors. Starting from the visitor center, a flexible route leads guests through houses, streets, and historic landmarks, where they interact with traces of past life and migration. The project creates a dialogue between the past and the present, using storytelling, local interaction, and cultural events to activate the space. At the end of the route, visitors return changed — they become part of the memory they witnessed.
